2014 Gendler Grapevine Project Initiatives

In 2014, the Gendler Grapevine Project recommended grants to five rabbinical schools to support sustainable, replicable “graperoots” initiatives that will inspire the next generation of rabbinical leaders.

The rabbinical school projects range in scope and approach, but they all have the same goal: to impart a deep understanding and appreciation for Judaism’s connections with the environment and social justice. These connections are being approached using vastly different methods and will teach the importance of environmental sustainability and social justice to rabbinical students and the rabbinical school community.
